Pirelli and the Team SRC Kawasaki France win the 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto, for the sixth time in the last ten years, and are now leading the overall standings of the 2019 FIM Endurance World Championship.

With the new larger size Pirelli Diablo™ Superbike tyres fitted; standard SC1 front and SC0 rear compound during daylight hours and development SC2 X1071 front and SC1 Y0187 rear at night, the Kawasaki ZX-10R number 11 ridden by Jérémy Guarnoni, David Checa and Erwan Nigon made 25 pit stops and completed 839 laps in 24 hours.

The 42nd edition of the renowned endurance race  24 Hours of Le Mans Moto which ended yesterday afternoon on the French track of Le Mans Bugatti Circuit in the presence of 76.000 spectators, saw Pirelli and the SRC Kawasaki France team victorious, for the sixth time in the last ten years, and now leading the overall standings of the 2019 FIM Endurance World Championship.

The Kawasaki ZX-10R number 11 bike ridden by riders Jérémy Guarnoni, David Checaand Erwan Nigon, achieved success in the second round of the FIM Endurance World Championship using new larger size DIABLO™  Superbike tyres, standard SC1 front and SC0 rear compound during daylight hours and development SC2 X1071 front and SC1 Y0187 rear at night.

 In detail, the Team SRC Kawasaki France made 25 pit-stops in 24 hours achieving a total of 839 laps. They crossed the finish line ahead of Team Honda Endurance Racing, second, and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, third, both on Dunlop tyres.

To cover the approximately 3511 kilometres, bike number 11 of the Kawasaki SRC team used a total of 26 rear and 13 front tyres with a change every two pit stops for the front, for an average of 270 kilometres per tyre, and every pit stop for the rear, for an average of 136 kilometres covered on each tyre.

The new larger size Pirelli Diablo™ Superbike tyres, developed in the FIM World Superbike Championship, showed great versatility combined with superior performance managing to work well even during the night with lower temperatures.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto gave Pirelli, in addition to the race victory, also another satisfaction; the double pole position on Saturday with the Team ERC-BMW Motorrad Endurance and, in the sub-category Superstock, with the GERT56 by GS YUASA team.

In this 24-hour marathon, which is held regularly since 1978 on the “Bugatti” circuit of Sarthe, the team SRC Kawasaki France has obtained the highest step of the podium by winning this sixth edition after those won in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016. These victories sum up to four achieved in the Bol d’Or bringing to ten the total successes obtained by Pirelli together with the team SRC Kawasaki France over the last ten years of the FIM World Endurance Championship.
