Kawasaki has officially unveiled the 2027 Ninja H2, bringing the supercharged superbike back with a significantly revised engine and a lower power output. As indicated by leaked documents earlier, the new model produces considerably less power than its predecessor, with the changes aimed at meeting stricter Euro5+ emissions requirements.
The previous Ninja H2, which was discontinued towards the end of 2020, developed 228bhp and earned a reputation largely because of its outright performance. The 2027 version produces 206.1bhp at 11,000rpm, representing a reduction of nearly 22bhp. Despite the drop, the latest H2 remains a seriously powerful motorcycle.
While the bike retains the distinctive design and trellis frame of the previous model, the engine has undergone extensive revisions. The updated powerplant shares several similarities with the H2 SX sports tourer, with changes made to the pistons, cylinder head, cylinder, crankshaft, camshafts, throttle bodies, exhaust system and gear ratios. The supercharger impeller and intake system have also been revised as part of the update.
The exhaust system has received a visible change as well, with the previous dual-tip canister replaced by a single pipe similar to the systems used on the H2 SX and Z H2. Despite the engine revisions, the bore and stroke remain unchanged at 76mm and 55mm respectively.
Braking hardware has also been updated, with Brembo Hypure callipers now fitted at the front in place of the older Stylema M50 units. Suspension duties continue to be handled by manually adjustable 43mm KYB USD forks at the front, while an Öhlins TTX36 monoshock is fitted at the rear.
Despite the mechanical changes, the Ninja H2 continues to weigh 238kg in kerb form. That makes it relatively heavy compared with many modern sportbikes, although Kawasaki has retained its extensive electronics package.

The updated TFT display now features revised themes and smartphone connectivity, while the existing electronic equipment includes traction control, launch control, cornering ABS, an up/down quickshifter, engine braking control, an electronic Öhlins steering damper and cruise control. The 2027 Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Ninja H2 Carbon will be offered in a single Mirror Coated Spark Black colour scheme. The motorcycles are expected to reach overseas dealerships towards the end of this year.
