OXFORD MONDIAL 2.0 JACKET

Oxford is a British motorcycle brand we’ve had plenty of experience with at BRM over the years, producing everything from riding apparel and luggage to heated grips, workshop equipment and accessories. We’ve used plenty of Oxford kit ourselves, including the original Mondial, and have always been impressed by the combination of useful features, quality and value.
The new Mondial 2.0 takes one of Oxford’s most popular all-weather motorcycle jackets and improves it further.
At its heart is Oxford’s Dry2Dry laminated construction. Rather than having a separate waterproof membrane hanging inside the jacket, the waterproof membrane is bonded to the outer shell. That creates a lightweight waterproof jacket and helps prevent the outer shell becoming saturated when you’re caught in bad weather.
That’s particularly useful for the sort of changeable conditions we regularly encounter riding in New Zealand.
The Mondial 2.0 has an 8,000mm waterproof rating combined with an 8,000g/m²/24hr breathability rating, while water-resistant zips and additional protection around the main opening help keep the weather where it belongs – on the outside.
For colder rides there’s a removable WarmDry thermal liner, while warmer conditions are taken care of with large chest vents plus ventilation at the upper arms and back. The chest vents have also been redesigned so they can be opened and secured easily with one hand.
Protection comes courtesy of CE Level 2 armour at the shoulders and elbows, with a pocket provided for an optional back protector. There’s also 360-degree reflective detailing to help make you more visible at night, along with long and short YKK connecting zips for attaching compatible riding pants.
In other words, it’s the sort of versatile jacket you can use for commuting, weekend riding and touring through the notoriously unpredictable Kiwi weather.
