Kawasaki Updates Ninja Line-Up for 2027

Kawasaki has revealed its 2027 Ninja line-up, with the latest ZX-6R continuing to lead a four-model supersport range that also includes the Ninja ZX-4R and more track-focused ZX-4RR.

The ZX-6R remains an important part of Kawasaki’s supersport offering, having returned to the range after a brief hiatus in 2020. The motorcycle combines a race-derived chassis with styling influenced by the larger Ninja ZX-10R, while continuing to target the increasingly competitive middleweight supersport segment.

For 2027, the ZX-6R will be offered in three colour options, including a Metallic Matte Carbon Gray/Metallic Spark Black combination. Beneath the updated colours, the motorcycle continues with Kawasaki’s familiar 636cc inline-four engine, producing 127.6bhp at 13,000rpm and 50.8lb-ft of torque at 10,800rpm.

The engine is supported by a comprehensive electronics package, including traction control, selectable power modes and a quickshifter. These systems are displayed through a full-colour TFT instrument panel, which also provides smartphone connectivity and integrated riding modes.

Suspension continues to be supplied by Showa, with the ZX-6R using an SFF-BP inverted fork at the front. The fork offers adjustment for compression and rebound damping as well as spring preload, while the rear continues to use a fully adjustable Showa shock.

The ZX-6R will once again share the Ninja family with the smaller ZX-4R and ZX-4RR. Both models receive updated colour options for 2027, with the ZX-4R gaining one new colour and the more track-focused ZX-4RR receiving three.

Kawasaki has also made a smaller update to the Ninja 500 for 2027. The motorcycle receives three new colour options and will continue to be offered in SE specification, with the Special Edition gaining exclusive graphics and a full-colour TFT display.

The expanded range gives Kawasaki several options across the lower and middleweight supersport categories, with the ZX-4R, ZX-4RR and ZX-6R continuing to cover different levels of performance and track focus within the Ninja family.
