- Based on Triumph Bonneville Bobber
- Customised and stripped back for better performance
Thornton Hundred Motorcycles founder Jody Millhouse has taken a heavily modified Triumph Bobber to Pendine Sands in Wales, where the custom-built machine reportedly reached speeds of more than 210kph in a bid focused entirely on outright performance.

Built at Thornton Hundred’s workshop in Milton Keynes, UK, the motorcycle marks another ambitious project from a company already known for creating some of the most distinctive custom Triumph Bobbers on the scene. This time, however, the emphasis shifted away from visual drama and toward land-speed capability.
Dubbed the Land Speed Bobber, the stripped-back machine is said to have recorded an impressive 132mph over a half-mile run. The bike also reportedly completed a quarter-mile sprint at 106.98mph, underlining the extent of its performance-focused transformation.

The project itself began under unusual circumstances. According to Thornton Hundred, the motorcycle arrived from the United States more than eight months ago in far from ideal condition, consisting largely of a damaged frame. From there, the team rebuilt and reworked the machine with speed as the primary objective.
To improve stability and efficiency at higher speeds, Thornton Hundred focused heavily on aerodynamic and chassis revisions throughout the build process. The motorcycle was also equipped with carbon-fibre wheels to reduce weight and improve performance, while an Akrapovič exhaust system was added as part of the overall package.

Pendine Sands has long held significance in British speed-record history, making it a fitting location for the attempt. For Thornton Hundred, the result showcases a different side of its custom-building expertise, one centred less on show-stopping design and more on extracting maximum performance from Triumph’s modern Bobber platform.
