Suzuki unveils Mini e-PO GSX-R electric bike at Suzuka

  • Comes with a 16Ah lithium battery
  • No word if it will go into production
  • Displayed alongside GSX-R1000R

While the Team Suzuki CN Challenge may have endured a weekend to forget at this year’s Suzuka endurance event, the Japanese marque still managed to grab attention thanks to a delightful surprise, a mini e-PO GSX-R-inspired electric bike.

The pint-sized machine is based on the e-PO electric bicycle, first shown in Japan a few years ago. Though there’s no confirmation of any production plans for these mini GSX-R models, it’s hard not to imagine them turning heads if they ever reached dealerships.

Suzuki Mini e-PO GSX-R

Suzuki chose to reveal the mini alongside its Team CN Challenge GSX-R1000R, which competed for the first time using 100 per cent sustainable fuel. While the CN Challenge entry finished 33rd 32 laps down on winners Honda, Suzuki’s main Yoshimura SERT Motul factory team enjoyed better fortunes, claiming third place on the podium.

Visually, the mini GSX-R is a charming homage to its bigger sibling, complete with simulated Yoshimura exhaust, identical livery, and even small-scale aerodynamic winglets. Under the skin, the e-PO hides a Panasonic electric motor and a 16Ah lithium battery within a compact, heavily modified aluminium alloy frame. The bike rides on 10-inch Bridgestone tyres measuring 80/90-10 at both ends.

The display also formed part of Suzuki’s celebration of the GSX-R’s 40th anniversary, an occasion that saw the launch of an all-new GSX-R1000R for 2026. While this tiny electric tribute may remain a one-off for now, it proved that even on a difficult race weekend, Suzuki can still deliver a showstopper.
