CFMoto has launched the CFMoto 1000 MT-X in New Zealand, priced at $19,990 + ORC, with introductory offers that include complimentary accessory packs. Buyers can choose between an Adventure Pack, focused on touring equipment, valued at $2,774, or a Rally Pack priced at $2,095, which adds off-road protection. This offer is available until 31 March.
Designed with long-distance touring in mind, the 1000 MT-X aims to balance performance, practicality, and refinement. It is powered by a 946.2cc parallel-twin engine producing 110bhp and 105Nm, managed by Bosch’s MSE 9.0 EFI system for precise throttle response. The engine features a lightweight alloy crankcase and engineered camshafts, helping keep its weight to 56kg, contributing to a claimed dry weight of 199kg.
The chassis setup includes fully adjustable suspension from KYB and braking components from Brembo, supported by cornering ABS. A six-axis IMU from Bosch enables rider aids such as five riding modes and dynamic traction control. Tyres come in the form of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR units, designed to offer a balance between on-road grip and off-road capability.
The bike is built around a steel frame with 7-series aerospace-grade aluminium rims, contributing to durability and strength. A large 8-inch TFT display acts as the control hub for the bike’s electronics, while a 22.5-litre fuel tank is claimed to deliver over 450km of range under mixed riding conditions.
Comfort and touring capability are key highlights. The 2-1 slim seat allows easier rider movement off-road, while standard features include cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter, heated grips, and a heated seat. Additional equipment, such as TPMS, adjustable handlebars and windscreen, a skid plate, handguards, and a chain guard, further enhances usability across varying terrain.
With its combination of range, equipment, and performance, the 1000 MT-X positions itself as a strong step-up option for riders moving up from the mid-capacity segment, particularly in markets like New Zealand, where long-distance versatility is a key requirement.
