BMW Motarrad refreshes F 900 GS and R 1300 GS

  • Both come with new colour options
  • R 1300 GS gets an added accessory package
  • Could be introduced in NZ and AUS early next year

BMW Motorrad has updated its adventure touring line-up for 2026, refreshing the F 900 GS and R 1300 GS with new colour options across international markets. Mechanical specifications remain unchanged.

The flagship R 1300 GS gains a new Style Trophy variant, finished in a White Aluminium Matt metallic and Racing Blue metallic colour scheme. While the Adventure version does not receive new paint options, BMW has revised some of its accessory packages. The Touring package now includes an updated hand-guard extension, while the Enduro Pro package adds a new engine guard.

The smaller F 900 GS also receives new visual updates for 2026, with two fresh colour options introduced. Buyers can now choose between Snapper Rocks Blue Matt metallic or a Racing Blue metallic, Light White uni and Racing Red uni combination. With these additions, BMW has discontinued two of the outgoing, closely related colour schemes.

Under the bodywork, both models carry over unchanged hardware. The F 900 GS continues to use its 895cc parallel-twin engine, producing 105bhp at 8,500rpm and 93Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. Designed with off-road riding in mind, it rolls on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke wheels and tips the scales at 219kg.

At the top of the range, the R 1300 GS retains its 1,300cc boxer-twin engine, delivering 145bhp at 7,750rpm and a strong 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Despite a kerb weight of 237kg, BMW claims the latest GS feels significantly lighter on the move.

We can expect both updated models to make it to New Zealand and Australia early next year.
