OliMoto, the father-and-son team preparing for a record-breaking 30,577km motorcycle journey around the world in 2027, has confirmed Honda UK Motorcycles as a key partner for the ambitious adventure.
The partnership represents a full-circle moment for OliMoto co-founder Joe, whose connection with Honda began almost four decades ago. His first experience of motorcycling came in the late 1980s, when he rode pillion on his brother Sam’s Honda 400 Four, which had been purchased from Shirlaws in Aberdeen.

Now, with Honda officially supporting the project and the same family-run dealership involved once again, Joe will undertake the global journey alongside his son Oli.
The idea for OliMoto emerged after the pair travelled home from the Adventure Bike Rider Festival in 2025. A conversation about motorcycles and travelling gradually developed into a larger project focused on showing what can be achieved when young people are encouraged to pursue their ambitions and families create meaningful experiences together.
In 2027, 17-year-old Oli will join Joe for the planned 30,577km journey across multiple continents as they attempt to establish a new world record. However, the expedition will be about more than covering the distance, with the pair planning to focus on cultural discovery, personal development and resilience while documenting the people, places and experiences encountered along the way.

The father-and-son duo will use two Honda motorcycles for the expedition. Joe will ride the latest NX500 equipped with Honda’s E-Clutch technology, while Oli will ride the CB125R.
