Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition unveiled

  • Unveiled for international markets
  • Comes in two new colours
  • No changes to engine or features

Aprilia has unveiled a new Special Edition version of the Tuono 457, giving its popular middleweight naked bike a more premium finish and a stronger focus on everyday comfort. While the mechanical package remains unchanged, the updates are aimed at riders who want a more relaxed riding experience without sacrificing the sporty character that has made the Tuono 457 one of the most talked-about motorcycles in its segment.

The most obvious changes come in the form of two new colour schemes, Mamba Black and Puma Grey, both inspired by the iconic 2006 Tuono 1000R. The fresh graphics are complemented by a smoked flyscreen, helping to give the Special Edition a more distinctive appearance compared to the standard model.

Aprilia has also focused on rider comfort and ergonomics. A taller handlebar provides a more upright riding position, reducing pressure on the wrists and shoulders during longer journeys. The front brake lever is now adjustable, allowing riders to tailor the reach to suit different hand sizes and preferences.

The suspension package has been revised as well, with a softer initial stroke designed to improve bump absorption and ride quality on imperfect roads. Compression damping has also been recalibrated to better balance comfort and control. Further enhancing long-distance usability is a redesigned seat that uses high-resilience foam, offering improved support for extended hours in the saddle.

Mechanically, the Tuono 457 Special Edition remains unchanged. Power comes from the same 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 47.6bhp and 43.5Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor continues to offer a balance of strong low-end performance and approachable power delivery, making it suitable for both new and experienced riders.

Equipment levels remain generous, with the bike retaining its TFT instrument display, full-LED lighting package and immobiliser-equipped ignition system. Riders looking to personalise their machine can also choose from a range of optional accessories, including a bidirectional quickshifter, tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), USB charger, electronic anti-theft system, passenger seat cover, fork sliders, helmet cable lock, shorter rear mudguard and sintered front brake pads.

Rather than chasing outright performance gains, the Tuono 457 Special Edition focuses on refining the ownership experience through improved comfort, practicality and styling. For riders who already appreciate the Tuono 457’s combination of lightweight handling and accessible performance, the Special Edition adds an extra layer of usability while paying tribute to one of Aprilia’s most memorable naked-bike designs.
