Royal Enfield teases new Guerrilla 450; global launch tomorrow!

  • Could come with upgraded suspension
  • Unlikely to get changes to its 452cc engine
  • Likely to be launched in NZ soon after

Royal Enfield has teased an updated version of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 ahead of its official debut on 27 March, with early indications pointing to a mix of mechanical refinements and cosmetic updates.

While the teaser itself reveals little, the current Guerrilla 450 has been widely regarded as an engaging and fun-to-ride motorcycle, albeit with a few shortcomings. Notably, the stock tyres have been criticised for offering average grip, while the rear suspension tends to feel firm, particularly over uneven surfaces.

The 2026 update is expected to address these concerns, with improvements likely in the form of grippier tyres and revised suspension damping. These changes should enhance both ride quality and overall handling.

Visually, the refreshed model is expected to feature new colour schemes and updated graphics to give it a more modern look. There is also hope that Royal Enfield will expand the bike’s feature set, potentially introducing rider aids such as traction control and a quickshifter, features that are becoming increasingly common in the sub-500cc segment. However, confirmation will only come at launch.

Mechanically, the Guerrilla 450 is expected to remain unchanged. It will continue to be powered by the 452cc, liquid-cooled Sherpa engine producing 40bhp and 40Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Pricing is likely to see a slight increase over the current model when the updated version is officially revealed.
