Triumph Motorcycles has launched its latest 400cc models in New Zealand with a starting price of $9,995 (+ORC) each.
The brand has confirmed the Thruxton 400 will reach dealerships in February 2026, with the Tracker 400 following in April 2026, marking a significant expansion of the brand’s entry-level range.
The Tracker 400 is Triumph’s first production motorcycle inspired by flat track racing, combining stripped-back styling with modern hardware. Sitting alongside it, the Thruxton 400 revives one of Triumph’s most recognisable nameplates, reworked into a compact, modern café racer aimed at newer riders.

Both models are powered by an updated version of Triumph’s 398cc TR-Series single-cylinder engine, now producing 42bhp at 9,000rpm. The revised motor features a higher rev limit and improved top-end performance, delivering a five per cent increase in peak power while retaining the strong low-end torque that has defined Triumph’s 400cc range since launch.
Inspired by oval dirt-track racing, the Tracker 400 adopts an upright riding position with wide handlebars and revised footpeg placement for a more aggressive stance. A dedicated chassis and updated suspension geometry are designed to deliver sharper handling and a more engaging ride.

Visually, the Tracker 400 stands out with a flat-track-style fuel tank, sculpted knee cut-outs, a fly screen, colour-matched seat cowl, number boards and newly designed wheels wrapped in Pirelli MT60 RS tyres. The look is finished with Triumph’s signature round LED headlight, twin upswept exhausts and exposed engine detailing. Colour options for the Tracker 400 include Racing Yellow, Phantom Black and Aluminium Silver Gloss, each featuring flat-track-inspired graphics.
Underneath the bodywork, the Tracker runs 43mm upside-down big piston forks with 140mm of travel, a preload-adjustable rear monoshock offering 130mm of travel, four-piston radial front brakes, and switchable ABS and traction control. Seat height is set at 805mm, keeping the bike accessible while maintaining its purposeful stance.

The Thruxton 400 brings café racer styling back to Triumph’s modern classics range. With clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs and a revised chassis, it offers a more committed riding position and sportier feel than the Speed 400.
Design highlights include a sculpted fuel tank with the Triumph triangle badge, a new fairing housing the round LED headlight, bar-end mirrors, a colour-matched bullet-style seat cowl and a shortened rear section for a clean, minimalist profile.

The Thruxton 400 rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres and features suspension tuned for agility and responsiveness. Like the Tracker, it comes equipped with ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, torque-assist clutch and ABS, all neatly integrated without compromising the bike’s classic look. Colour options for the Thruxton include Carnival Red, Pearl Metallic White with Storm Grey, Metallic Racing Yellow with Aluminium Silver, and Phantom Black with Aluminium.
