- Shark helmets now have a new NZ distributor, Forbes & Davies, bringing wider availability to new models across the country.
- MotoGP-level tech arrives for Kiwi riders, including the Aeron GP Zarco Replica with its adaptive aero system and FIM-approved carbon/aramid construction.
- Aeron, Spartan GT Pro and Spartan RS ranges are landing now, with more shipments due early 2026—meaning more Sharks in more NZ dealerships than ever before.
Shark helmets has a new home in New Zealand, with Forbes & Davies taking over distribution and gearing up to get the French brand into dealerships nationwide. That’s good news for Kiwi riders, because Shark has been quietly pushing helmet tech forward—using the intensity of MotoGP as its R&D lab before filtering those innovations down to everyday lids.

Inside the Aeron GP Zarco Replic
We dropped by the new distributor for a look at the flagship Aeron GP Zarco Replica—Shark’s most advanced helmet and one that carries full FIM approval. Its headline trick is a patented adaptive aero system: the rear spoiler features pressure-sensitive flaps that flex at speed. When Johann Zarco sits up under braking, the system stabilises his head. When he’s hanging off mid-corner, it reduces side load. It’s race-bike aerodynamics… built into a helmet.
Constructed from a carbon/aramid blend, the Aeron GP also promises huge visibility, massive airflow and top-tier protection. Emergency cheek-pad releases come standard too. Stock is extremely limited in NZ, and the price tag reflects its MotoGP pedigree—but the technology is impressive.

While we were at Forbes and Davies checking out the new helmets, we caught up with the GM who was pleased with their new range. “We’re thrilled to bring Shark Helmets back to the forefront of the New Zealand market,” says John Holding, General Manager of Forbes & Davies. “Shark is a global leader in rider protection, performance and innovation. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to offering Kiwi motorcyclists the best products available, particularly with the recent collaboration announcement with MotoGP, that paves the way for some exciting new helmets for 2026.”
And Shark has gone one further than simply making a helmet that’s up to the demands and rules of MotoGP, they’ve become the first helmet brand to enter into a collaboration with the #1 motorcycle racing series by producing the first official collection of MotoGP helmets. The exclusive collection of MotoGP models will include the Aeron GP FIM that meets the new FIM2 standards, but also an Aeron, that will offer the performance of the Aeron GP without the A2S spoiler, closely followed by two brand new models, the Skwal Cup and the Skwal Jet Cup.

On the collaboration, Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports said, “This official collection under license MotoGP is a strong symbol of our growth. The values of MotoGP — passion, excitement, courage — can now be carried by fans on the road. SHARK is a historic brand, committed to the highest safety standards. We are proud of this partnership.”
The official presentation of the Shark MotoGP Collection will take place in March 2026.

Helmets Built For Road Riders
If you don’t need MotoGP-level aero, the standard Aeron brings much of the GP tech at a far friendlier price. You still get the carbon/aramid shell, aerodynamic spoiler and track-ready Double-D strap—plus a magnetic chinstrap lock to stop the annoying flapping at speed. And yes, it’s compatible with SENA intercom systems.
Road riders who want comfort above all else will gravitate toward the Spartan GT Pro. Its carbon shell, “Morpho” plush cheek pads and dual rear spoilers focus on stability and ventilation rather than outright track performance. And if you want bolder graphics, the Spartan RS is the loud one in the family.

According to Forbes & Davies, the first shipment of Sharks is already here, with more landing in January and March—meaning riders will very soon be seeing a lot more Sharks in dealerships across NZ.
The March delivery will likely see the arrival of the most exciting helmet of the new models, the Skwal Cup Jet. This is what Shark is describing as the “Urban Version of racing DNA.”

Featuring the exclusive rear spoiler “SHARK FIN”, unique on a Jet helmet, Shark claims it offers unmatched aerodynamic stability while offering a compact format, aggressive look and 100% racing attitude. All in a package that is comfortable and cool for city riding.
Pricing ranges from $399 for the entry-level Ridill-2 to $799 for the Spartan RS. The Aeron is $1,599 in plain or $1,749 for a Zarco rep, while the FIM homologated Aeron GP is $2,299.
Keep an eye on your local dealer or Forbes and Davies for more info. And we hope to be using a Shark for testing at BRM soon.
A Bit About Shark
Founded in 1989 by the Teston brothers in Marseille, Shark built its reputation on competition and innovation. More than 11 million helmets later—and with sponsored riders like Johann Zarco and Raul Fernandez—the brand continues developing its own shells, aerodynamics and safety systems entirely in-house. Safety, innovation and performance have always been the DNA, and the latest Aeron range shows they’re still pushing hard.
Summary
Shark helmets have a new distributor in New Zealand, with Forbes & Davies taking over to expand availability of the French brand’s full range, including the MotoGP-derived Aeron GP Zarco Replica and the more affordable Aeron and Spartan series. The Aeron GP features a patented adaptive aero system, carbon/aramid construction and FIM approval, while the Spartan GT Pro and Spartan RS target road riders with premium comfort, ventilation and bold styling. With shipments arriving now and more due in early 2026, Kiwi riders can expect wider access to Shark’s safety-focused, innovation-driven designs across NZ dealerships.
