The next-generation KTM 790 Adventure has been spotted testing overseas, with fresh spy shots revealing a significantly updated design and hinting that the middleweight adventure bike is edging closer to production.
The prototype appears noticeably slimmer than the current model, featuring a redesigned front end with a compact LED projector headlight flanked by integrated daytime running lights. The sharper styling brings the 790 Adventure into line with KTM’s latest design language seen across its newer models.
The fuel tank and bodywork also appear to have been heavily revised, giving the motorcycle a leaner and more athletic profile than the outgoing version. While the overall design looks close to production-ready, KTM could still make further refinements before the bike’s official debut.
Power is expected to come from the existing 799cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which produces 93bhp and 87Nm of torque. Like other recent KTM prototypes, the test bike is equipped with the company’s new in-house WP brake calipers.
The prototype also appears to retain the current model’s five-inch TFT instrument display, which is expected to continue offering smartphone connectivity for navigation, call notifications and SMS alerts. KTM has yet to confirm when the updated 790 Adventure will be officially unveiled, but the level of finish seen on the latest test mule suggests the motorcycle is nearing production.
