Triumph Unveils 2026 TF 450-X: Most Powerful in Class

  • 62.4PS 450cc engine claimed to be the most powerful in the MX1 class.
  • Ultra-light 108.3kg chassis for top-tier agility.
  • Race-tuned electronics, including launch control, traction control, quickshifter, and dual engine maps.

After making the move into the dirt bike arena in September 2023, Triumph has finally added the last piece to the range with the announcement of a 450cc motocross model to join the existing line-up. And it’s now a comprehensive mix of competitive machines, with 250cc and 450cc enduro, cross country and motocross models covering the basis for any rider who likes playing in the dirt. The only thing missing is a 2-stroke… Now, that would be interesting!

Pure Power and Refined Control

At the heart of the TF 450-X is a 449.5cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine producing 62.4 PS at 9,500 rpm — that Triumph claims is the most powerful engine in its class. And considering they’re the new kids on the bloke, that’s pretty impressive. Yet that’s not all. Coupled with an ultra-light 108.3kg chassis, the 450-X delivers exceptional power-to-weight ratio, agility, and balance.

Electronics have made a massive impact on dirt bikes in the last couple of years, and the Triumph range is certainly not shy on adding the sort of features we’re used to seeing on their road bikes, and some. The new 450-X gets an engine package supported by race-tuned electronics, including launch control, traction control, quickshifter, and dual engine maps, all designed to give riders precise control in any racing situation.

Chassis and Suspension Upgrades

Triumph has fine-tuned the aluminium spine frame and swingarm to maximise chassis performance, grip, and stability. The TF 450-X retains the RC edition’s KYB 48mm coil-spring forks and piggyback rear shock, calibrated for consistent damping, controlled landings, and confident handling across a variety of terrains. Brembo brakes, D.I.D wheels, and Pirelli MX32 tyres complete the premium package.

Race-Inspired Components and Accessories

The TF 450-X comes fully equipped with ProTaper handlebars, Neken yokes, and ODI lock-on grips for precise control. Riders can further enhance performance with an optional range of competition accessories, including:

  • Akrapovič full titanium exhaust system
  • XTrig hole shot device
  • Athena LC-GPA launch control module
  • MX Tune Pro wi-fi module with up to ten additional engine maps
  • Performance gripper seat and seat cover
  • A bold Performance Yellow graphics kit with in-mould decals gives the TF 450-X a race-ready aesthetic for 2026.

Triumph Motorcycles’ Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Stroud, said:

“Our motocross programme has already delivered podium finishes in Supercross and MXGP. The new TF 450-X builds on that momentum, offering race-developed performance in a standard production model, accessible for weekend riders while helping competitive racers perform at the highest level.”

The TF 450-X is expected to arrive in dealerships from November 2025, starting at $16,995.
