KTM temporarily halts production in Austria

  • KTM’s Mattighofen plant pauses production
  • Shortage of component supply
  • To reopen in July

KTM has temporarily paused production of its motorcycles at its Mattighofen plant in Austria. And this time around, the company had to halt operations due to challenges with its component supply.

According to reports, KTM is yet to clear the dues of supplying vendors, resulting in the shortage. The components in question are vital to the production of the motorcycles that roll out from its Austrian plant, especially the 990 Duke, 1390 Super Duke, Adventure and Super Adventure among a few others.

That said, KTM is hoping to resume operations at the plant in July. It has been a challenging few months for the Austrian manufacturer- facing financial losses and nearly shutting down. While there are rumours about various brands planning to buy out KTM, there is no official information yet. However, the brand has been launching new motorcycles in other markets like the new 390 Adventure R and the 390 Enduro.

With positive reviews on the latest motorcycles, we can hope that KTM succeeds in rebuilding itself in the near future.
