If you were a fan of Kurt Sutter’s 7 Series take on Shakespeare’s Hamlet – Sons of Anarchy – you’ll want to grab your best black vest and book a space on the couch for later this year.

The new show, dubbed Mayans MC, takes place after the events of Sons of Anarchy the network behind the show, FX, announced in an official synopsis of the show, which reads:

“Set in the aftermath of Jax Teller’s death at the end of SOA‘s seven-season run in 2014, Mayans MC will focus on the struggles of Ezekiel ‘EZ’ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border.

“EZ is the gifted son of a proud Latino family, whose American dream was snuffed out by cartel violence. Now, his need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended and can never escape.”

While the teaser trailer is only 25 seconds long and doesn’t introduce us to much more than a cool Spanish version of The Rolling Stones ‘Paint it Black’, it sure as hell looks cool.

Will it follow the same Shakespearian plot line as its predecessor did? We’ll just have to wait to find out.
