While wandering around the NZ Motorcycle Show a couple of weeks back, we came across a small stand and a couple of guys with serious beards, who began talking about an epic tour to the United States.
It turns out the guys with beards were none-other than Paul Martin and Tony “Nail” Vincent from legendary Kiwi rock group Devilskin, and the stand belonged to Denis from Bikes and Borders.
If you haven’t heard of Devilskin, the Kiwi metal band got together in 2010, consisting of Jennie Skulander, guitarist Tony “Nail” Vincent, bassist Paul Martin and drummer Nic Martin. Their first album, We Rise, was released in 2014 and hit #1 in the NZ Music Charts, with their follow-up album Be Like The River doing the same in 2016.
Recognisable by their trademark red beards, it turns out that Paul and Nail are keen motorcyclists, and they’ve teamed up with Bikes and Borders to put on an exclusive motorcycle tour in the U.S.A next year. Running from the gambling mecca of Las Vegas, the tour will head through the desert highways and canyon country to take in jaw-dropping sites like the Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon before ending up at Born-Free, the biggest custom bike show on the planet.
Bikes and Borders are a husband and wife team, with the couple combining their love for travel and doing it on motorcycles into a tour business, Bikes & Borders. Working with the team from Devilskin, they’ve come up with a bespoke tour, Born Free 2026, that’s going to take in some of the best sites and roads, where you’ll also be able to make some lifelong memories by riding with these two legends of Kiwi rock.
While at the Born-Free show, the tour will stop off at the legendary Thrashin’ Supply Motorcycles where there’ll be plenty of opportunity to go shopping before finishing up with two ‘wild’ nights in L.A doing things like visiting Venice Beach and checking out the local biker culture. And with Paul and Nail along with you, chances are the evenings are going to be wild!
