KTM has revealed the updated 2027 790 Duke, giving its middleweight naked bike a comprehensive refresh aimed at improving styling, comfort and handling while retaining the sharp character that earned it the nickname “The Scalpel.” Let’s look at images of the motorcycle in detail!

Visually, the new model takes clear inspiration from KTM’s larger-capacity naked bikes, particularly the 990 Duke and flagship 1390 Super Duke R. The redesign brings a more aggressive appearance thanks to a new LED headlight, reshaped bodywork, a larger front fairing and a redesigned fuel tank. The result is a motorcycle that looks more substantial and modern while maintaining the compact proportions that have defined the 790 Duke since its introduction.

Power continues to come from KTM’s proven 799cc LC8c parallel-twin engine, which remains Euro 5+ compliant and produces 105bhp. For riders in markets with licence restrictions, KTM will also offer a 95bhp version suitable for A2 compatibility requirements. While peak performance figures remain unchanged, the engine now works alongside a newly designed exhaust system intended to improve refinement and overall ride quality.

One of the key focuses of the update has been rider comfort. KTM has revised the bike’s ergonomics through a redesigned rider triangle that incorporates a new handlebar, repositioned footpegs and an updated seat. These changes are intended to create a more natural riding position, improving comfort during longer journeys without compromising the Duke’s sporty feel.

Despite appearing larger than its predecessor, the new 790 Duke is actually lighter. KTM claims a 2kg weight reduction, achieved through a combination of component revisions including a new subframe, revised triple clamps and a redesigned fuel tank. Beyond the weight savings, these updates are also said to improve chassis rigidity, handling precision and front-end feedback.

The chassis package receives several notable upgrades. The bike now comes fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres as standard, providing improved grip and performance across a range of riding conditions. KTM has also added a WP steering damper and introduced new in-house developed WP radial brake calipers, further enhancing stability and braking performance.

Suspension duties are handled by updated WP Apex components front and rear. KTM has focused on making setup changes simpler for owners, incorporating an easy-to-use five-click adjustment system that allows riders to fine-tune suspension settings without the complexity often associated with performance motorcycles.

The overall package reflects KTM’s effort to refine the 790 Duke rather than reinvent it. The company says the latest version maintains the agility, responsiveness and playful handling that have made the model popular among both newer and experienced riders, while adding greater comfort, improved technology and a more premium feel.
