Moto2 rider Romano Fenati has been disqualified from the race at Misano after an incredulous incident where he attempted to grab at a fellow racers front brake lever.

Fenati has been banned for two races after the move, where he deliberately reached out to try to grab at Stephano Manzi’s brake lever, apparently in retaliation to a clash a few laps prior. Manzi attempted to pass Fenati on the inside of Turn 14, pushing both bikes off track and out of the points, and has received a penalty for “riding in an irresponsible manner”.

Former GP rider Colin Edwards commented, “This is unbelievable…are you kidding me?” Edwards said on BT Sport. “That’s where you tell him, ‘go pack your bag and we’ll see you next year’. That’s ridiculous.” Other riders have called for Fenati to be banned for life.
