Moto Morini Revives the Camel Name with New 670cc ADV

Moto Morini has brought back one of its familiar names from the 1980s, unveiling the new Camel at EICMA 2026. The adventure motorcycle combines a 670cc parallel-twin engine with long-travel suspension, a 21-inch front wheel and substantial ground clearance, giving it a stronger off-road focus than the brand’s existing X-Cape range.

The original Camel arrived in the early 1980s, around the time adventure riding was gaining popularity and events such as the Paris-Dakar Rally were capturing attention. The new model pays tribute to that heritage through its sand-coloured bodywork, black panels and relatively straightforward styling. A tall windscreen, angular LED headlamp and sculpted fuel tank give it a familiar adventure-bike profile, while the two-piece seat, exposed rear subframe and luggage rack reinforce its long-distance touring intentions.

Power comes from a 670cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin producing 81bhp at 10,000rpm and 70Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is housed in a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame, paired with a single-piece aluminium swingarm. Suspension is fully adjustable at both ends, with a 48mm upside-down front fork offering 250mm of travel and a progressive linkage-type rear monoshock providing the same amount. Riders can adjust preload, compression and rebound damping to suit different conditions.

Its off-road credentials are further supported by 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, both fitted with tubeless tyres. Brembo handles braking duties through twin 300mm front discs and a single 255mm rear disc, while switchable ABS allows riders to adapt the braking assistance for off-road use. The electronics package includes ride-by-wire throttle control, multiple riding modes and multi-level adjustable traction control.

The Camel also gets Bluetooth connectivity and navigation support through the Moto Morini smartphone app. One of its standout figures is the 280mm ground clearance, which should help it tackle rocky trails, deep ruts and uneven terrain. That generous clearance comes with an 850mm seat height, however, which could make it difficult for shorter riders to manage. The motorcycle has a declared dry weight of 200kg and a 20-litre fuel tank.
