Honda WN7: First Full-Sized Electric Motorcycle Confirmed for 2025 Production

  • Honda’s first full-sized electric motorcycle named WN7, based on the EV FUN Concept.
  • Over 130km range, CCS2 rapid charging (20–80% in 30 minutes) and home wallbox option.
  • Production starts late 2025, first deliveries in 2026 although chances are it won’t come to NZ.

A release out of the UK has officially named and detailed Honda’s first full-sized electric motorcycle, confirming the Honda WN7 will go into production in late 2025, with first deliveries expected to dealerships overseas expected in early 2026. Orders are already open, with pricing for the UK set at £12,999 (approx. $30,000NZD).

The WN7, which debuted as the EV FUN Concept at EICMA 2024, carries a slim and futuristic naked-bike design. Underneath, it packs a fixed lithium-ion battery capable of delivering over 130km of range, supported by flexible charging options that will be crucial for its success. Honda has made the bike CCS2 rapid-charge compatible, meaning a 20–80% “top up” can be achieved in just 30 minutes, while a home wallbox charger completes a 0–100% recharge in under 3 hours.

At 217kg, the WN7 is relatively light for an electric motorcycle, and its 18kW water-cooled motor produces performance comparable to a 600cc ICE machine, backed by a hefty 100Nm of torque – more in line with a litre bike. In the UK you’ll be able to option an 11kW A1 licence-friendly version which, according to Honda UK,will ‘broadening its appeal’. Hmmm…

Honda says the WN7 is designed to deliver a riding experience that feels fresh and emotional compared with ICE bikes, yet still retains the brand’s trademark qualities of balance, stability and enjoyment. Riders can also expect a modern spec sheet, including a five-inch TFT display with RoadSync connectivity and dedicated EV menus, along with full LED lighting.

The range figure will be the deciding factor for many, and Honda knows it. While 130km is modest by petrol standards, the ability to recharge quickly at CCS2 stations or overnight at home will be a significant consideration for riders weighing up whether to make the switch.

Honda will release full technical specifications at EICMA 2025, but with production confirmed and pre-orders now open, the WN7 marks a milestone moment: the brand’s first step into mainstream electric motorcycling.
