- To participate in the new Sportbike class
- Will compete with Triumph Daytona 660 and Yamaha R7
CFMoto is set to make a significant statement in road racing, with the 675SR-R confirmed to compete in the Isle of Man TT, marking the brand’s first official entry under its own name at the iconic event.
While much of the recent speculation has centred around potential entries into MotoGP and Superbike World Championship, this move into road racing arguably carries even more symbolic weight. The TT’s 37.73-mile Mountain Course is one of the most demanding circuits in the world, and this will be the first time a China-designed motorcycle, wearing a Chinese brand badge, takes it on officially.
The entry comes as part of the newly introduced Sportbike class at the TT, which also includes machines like the Triumph Daytona 660 and Yamaha R7. For many bikes in this category, it marks their debut on the Mountain Course. CFMoto has partnered with Moto Twelve Racing, a team that has already built experience in the class through the British Superbike Championship. However, success at the TT requires a very different skill set compared to short-circuit racing.
To that end, the team has brought in experienced road racers Shaun Anderson and Jamie Cringle. Anderson brings a wealth of TT experience, including 54 starts and membership in the exclusive 130mph average lap club, while Cringle adds valuable local knowledge as an Isle of Man native.
Interestingly, while this is being positioned as CFMoto’s debut, there is some history behind the scenes. Back in 2013, machines with CFMoto underpinnings were raced at the TT via UK importer WK Bikes, though they didn’t carry CFMoto branding. That makes this 2026 effort the brand’s first true, official appearance on the world’s most famous road racing stage.
From a broader perspective, this is less about immediate podium results and more about positioning. If CFMoto can prove reliability and pace at the TT, it strengthens its credibility not just in racing, but across its growing global performance lineup.
