ISDE Team Manager Kylie Dorr wins NZI Rural Women Business Award

  • ISDE Team Manager Kylie Dorr wins 2026 NZI Rural Women Business Awards Supreme Award.
  • Southern Reproductive has grown into a nationwide rural business with Australian expansion planned.
  • Dorr represented New Zealand at the ISDE and now manages the Kiwi team heading to Portugal.

New Zealand ISDE Team Manager and accomplished enduro rider Kylie Dorr has been recognised for her achievements away from the motorcycle world, being named the Supreme Winner at the 2026 NZI Rural Women Business Awards.

Kylie has represented NZ in the ISDE and is now the NZ ISDE team manager.

Many riders will know Dorr through her involvement in enduro, where she has represented New Zealand at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) and now manages the country’s ISDE campaign. Away from the bike, however, she’s also built one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing rural businesses.

Dorr, owner of Southern Reproductive, received the Supreme Award after first taking out the Emerging Enterprise category at the annual NZI Rural Women Business Awards, held at Parliament in Wellington. The awards recognise innovation, leadership and business excellence among women in rural New Zealand.

Southern Reproductive was established five years ago after Dorr returned to New Zealand from the United States, where she had spent more than eight years managing large dairy farming operations. Starting as an independent artificial insemination technician, the business has grown to employ 12 AI technicians across the South Island and more than 20 seasonal staff, while also offering pregnancy scanning, veterinary ultrasound technology and specialist training. The company is now preparing to expand into Australia.

While the award recognises her entrepreneurial success, Dorr’s achievements on two wheels are equally impressive.

A lifelong off-road rider, she returned to competitive enduro just a few years ago after buying herself a dirt bike to celebrate the first anniversary of her business. That decision quickly snowballed into national success before earning selection for New Zealand’s first Women’s Trophy Team at the 2024 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Spain.

She successfully completed the gruelling six-day event, covering around 1,200 kilometres of demanding terrain and finishing approximately 160th outright against an international field dominated by male competitors. Dorr has since taken on the role of Team Manager for New Zealand’s ISDE effort and will oversee three Kiwi teams at this year’s event in Portugal.

Rural Women New Zealand National President Heather Sorensen said the standard of entries this year had been exceptionally high.

“It was a great challenge for the judging panel as there were so many incredible, high calibre and creative businesswomen among the entrants,” Sorensen said.

“To be announced as the supreme winner is very special and I am delighted that Kylie Dorr is the recipient this year.”

For the motorcycle community, the award highlights another side of someone already well respected in New Zealand enduro circles.

Balancing international competition, leading New Zealand’s ISDE programme and growing an award-winning rural business is no small feat, making Dorr’s latest accolade recognition not just of business success, but of the determination and work ethic that has also seen her excel in one of motorcycling’s toughest disciplines.
