BMW Celebrates Nürburgring Centenary With Limited-Edition Motorcycles

BMW Motorrad is marking the Nürburgring’s 100th anniversary with special versions of its M1000 RR, M1000 R and M1000 XR. Production will be limited to 100 examples of each model worldwide.

The ‘100 Jahre Nürburgring’ editions have been created to celebrate the German circuit’s centenary in 2027. The Nürburgring officially opened on June 18, 1927, and BMW is marking the occasion across both its motorcycle and car ranges.

All three motorcycles receive the same core anniversary treatment, beginning with a historic Nürburgring Green paint finish and dedicated anniversary decals. The bikes also feature carbon wheels, black subframes and swingarms, along with Alcantara-look seats carrying ‘100’ embroidery.

The anniversary detailing continues across the bodywork, with a painted fuel tank featuring Nordschleife decoration and a specially designed airbox cover carrying the anniversary graphics and a ‘one of 100’ marking. BMW’s M Track Package is also included as standard, while the M1000 RR and M1000 R additionally come with an M Cover Kit.

BMW is also supplying each motorcycle with an M motorcycle mat carrying the 100 Jahre Nürburgring logo, as well as a rear paddock stand. Despite sharing the anniversary treatment, the three motorcycles retain their individual characters. The M1000 RR remains the most track-focused of the trio, using BMW’s M-developed superbike package with an emphasis on aerodynamics, lightweight construction and circuit performance.

The special editions also underline the long-standing connection between BMW and the Nürburgring, with BMW using the circuit for the development and testing of its road-going M machinery.

The motorcycle launch forms part of a wider BMW M and BMW Motorrad anniversary programme. Six BMW M cars will also be offered as 100 Jahre Nürburgring editions, including the M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupé, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring.
