BMW Motorrad has revealed a special R 1300 GS Adventure 10 Years Edition in Brazil to celebrate a decade of motorcycle production at its Manaus factory. Limited to just 10 units, the special edition marks 10 years of operations at the facility, with one motorcycle produced for each year.
The Manaus plant holds particular significance for BMW Motorrad. It is the company’s only BMW Motorrad-owned motorcycle production facility outside Germany and has produced 150,000 motorcycles since operations began. The R 1300 GS Adventure was the model that marked the production milestone. Brazil has also grown into BMW Motorrad’s fifth-largest global market, behind Germany, France, Italy and the United States.
Unlike some globally distributed special editions, the 10 Years Edition has been created specifically for the Brazilian market. Each of the 10 motorcycles features an exclusive combination of paint, finishes and commemorative graphics developed for the anniversary.
The special detailing extends across several parts of the motorcycle, including the side panels, engine sump guard and valve-cover protectors. BMW has also carried the commemorative treatment onto the top box, integrating the luggage into the overall design. An individual commemorative plaque is fitted to each motorcycle, further highlighting its limited-production status.
Beneath the anniversary-specific styling, the motorcycle remains the familiar R 1300 GS Adventure. It is powered by BMW’s 1,300cc boxer engine and, in this special edition, all 10 examples are equipped with the company’s Automated Shift Assistant (ASA).
With production limited to just 10 motorcycles, the R 1300 GS Adventure 10 Years Edition serves as a celebration of BMW Motorrad’s decade of motorcycle manufacturing in Brazil rather than a major mechanical update to the adventure motorcycle.
