BMW Motorrad has announced a series of updates across its heritage, roadster, sport-touring and performance line-ups for the 2027 model year. While the changes are largely cosmetic and equipment-focused, they introduce new paint options, touring accessories and additional factory-fit packages across several models.
The biggest visual change comes to the R12 G/S, which receives a new Frozen Brooklyn Grey metallic paint scheme. The new colour replaces the outgoing Option 719 Sandrover Uni matt finish, while the motorcycle remains mechanically and technically unchanged.
Elsewhere, BMW has expanded its range of optional factory equipment. The R1300 RS can now be ordered with factory-fit panniers, while the R1300 R gains access to the same luggage system, along with a new Touring Package that includes left and right case holders, a central locking system, and a centre stand to improve long-distance practicality.

The F900 R and F900 XR also receive updates through the optional Comfort Package, which now includes BMW’s M Endurance Chain. Featuring a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, the maintenance-free chain is designed to offer greater durability, stiffness and wear resistance, while eliminating the need for regular lubrication.
At the top of the range, the M1000 XR benefits from new optional equipment packages aimed at track-focused riders. The new M Track Package includes BMW’s M Laptrigger, Carbon Package, M Billet Package and M Carbon Wheels. Buyers can also opt for the M Track Package II, which includes the same equipment but without the M Carbon Wheels. BMW has also confirmed that the previous M Competition Package has been discontinued for the 2027 model year.
