The fifth-gen Ducati Monster has added a major accolade to its name, with the naked motorcycle securing a prestigious Red Dot Design Award. The recognition comes for the latest Monster V2, which debuts Ducati’s new-generation 890cc V2 engine.
The award adds Ducati to a growing list of motorcycle manufacturers recognised for product design in 2026. Earlier this year, Honda claimed a Red Dot award for its electric WN7 following an iF Design honour, while Suzuki’s GSX-8T and GSX-8TT also received recognition in the same category.
For Ducati, the timing of the award makes the achievement particularly notable. The latest Monster only began reaching dealerships earlier this year, yet it has already attracted attention for both its styling and technical package.

First revealed as part of Ducati’s EICMA 2025 showcase, the new Monster V2 emerged as one of the Italian manufacturer’s headline releases. Central to the motorcycle is Ducati’s all-new 890cc V2 engine, featuring the company’s Intake Variable Timing (IVT) technology aimed at balancing performance and rideability.
The liquid-cooled V-twin produces 109.4bhp and 91Nm of torque, with Ducati stating that 70 per cent of peak torque is available from as low as 3,000rpm. The brand also claims 80 per cent remains accessible between 4,000rpm and 10,000rpm, highlighting the engine’s broad power delivery. Chassis hardware combines simplicity with performance-focused components. Suspension duties are handled by a non-adjustable 43mm Showa front fork, paired with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, also supplied by Showa.
Braking performance comes courtesy of Brembo M4.32 calipers gripping twin 320mm discs at the front, while a 245mm rear disc works alongside a two-piston caliper. Cornering ABS is included as standard, enhancing stability and control under braking.
Ducati has already expanded the Monster V2’s visual appeal with the introduction of a new Sport Livery, added to the range in April. Buyers can now choose from three paint schemes, including the traditional Ducati Red and Iceberg White finishes. The Red Dot recognition reinforces Ducati’s longstanding reputation for blending performance with visual identity, and for the new Monster V2, it marks an early endorsement at the beginning of what Ducati hopes is a successful new chapter for one of its most recognisable nameplates.
