- Isle of Man TT CBR1000RR goes on auction in the UK next month
- Will be auctioned alongside Joey Dunlop’s VFR750R RC30
Motorcycle collectors and Isle of Man TT enthusiasts will have the chance to own a piece of racing history next month, as Iconic Auctioneers prepares to offer two motorcycles connected to the legendary Dunlop family at its upcoming sale in Surrey.
The auction, scheduled to take place at Kempton Park Racecourse in the UK on Saturday, 18 July, will feature a 2010 Honda CBR1000RR Superstock machine previously ridden by Michael Dunlop during the Isle of Man TT.
The motorcycle will be sold alongside another historically significant machine, a Castrol-liveried Honda VFR750R RC30 raced by Michael’s uncle, Joey Dunlop, as well as TT great Steve Hislop. Michael Dunlop campaigned the Hunts Motorcycle Racing Honda during practice for the 2010 Isle of Man TT, where he recorded an average lap speed of 205kmph. That effort secured the fastest Superstock lap of practice that year, although tyre troubles during the race ultimately restricted him to an eighth-place finish.

According to the auction listing, the CBR1000RR remains in its original TT race condition and is still in running order. Built entirely by Hunts Motorcycle Racing, the machine has reportedly been preserved largely unchanged since its competitive outing on the island.
Mechanically, the motorcycle is equipped with a number of race-focused components, including a Chris Hayhew-built engine, carbon-fibre Akrapovič exhaust, Showa kit suspension, an HRC kit wiring loom, K-Tech forks and an Öhlins steering damper.
The bike will also be offered with a collection of supporting documentation and memorabilia, including photographs, a letter from Hunts Motorcycles, an HRC software CD, a 2010 TT Superstock timing sheet, a specification list and an original Datatag form. The engine is said to have covered approximately 2400kms.
Michael Dunlop’s place in Isle of Man TT history has only grown since that early outing. Already the most successful rider in the event’s history, the Northern Irish racer currently holds a record 33 TT victories and will look to extend that tally when the 2026 edition begins next week. His dominance places him clear of every other competitor in TT history, with uncle Joey Dunlop, himself regarded as one of the sport’s greatest names, remaining second on the all-time wins list with 26 victories.
