- Win a fully race-prepped 2025 Yamaha R6 valued at $40,000
- Limited to just 1200 tickets, with proceeds supporting Southland road racers
- Drawn during the 2026 New Zealand Grand Prix weekend at Teretonga
In the spirit of Burt Munro himself, the Burt Munro Challenge is offering riders a rare opportunity: the chance to win a brand-new, fully race-prepared 2025 Yamaha YZF-R6, while directly supporting the next generation of Southland road racers.
Just as Burt chased the impossible and put Invercargill on the world stage, today’s young riders from the deep south are pushing boundaries of their own. Buying a raffle ticket helps fund their international ambitions, carrying Burt’s fearless legacy forward into the modern era of road racing.

The prize is an exclusive “MacAttack” replica, based on the machine used by six-time New Zealand champion Cormac Buchanan to secure the 2024 NZSBK 600 Supersport Championship. Built to NZSBK Superstock specifications, the race-ready Yamaha R6 is valued at $40,000 and has been professionally prepared with a comprehensive list of top-tier components.
Those components include a GYTR race loom and ECU, YSS racing suspension front and rear, Brembo RCS17 master cylinder with Core braided brake lines, an I2M dashboard with Ten Kate mount, Akrapovic race exhaust with titanium muffler, Ten Kate oil system, Woolich tuning by YRDTNZ, Racers Edge fairings finished in Xpress Racewear graphics, Pirelli Rosso 4 race slicks, and a full suite of GYTR, Bonamici, Vortex, GB Racing and Renthal race hardware. The full specification list remains unchanged and reflects a true front-running Superstock build.
Tickets are priced at $100 each and are strictly limited to 1200 entries, meaning once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.burtmunrochallenge.co.nz, as well as at selected motorcycle events in January and throughout the Burt Munro Challenge, running from 4–8 February 2026.
Beyond the chance to win a serious race bike, the raffle plays a vital role in supporting Southland’s road racing community as its riders take on the world stage. It’s about backing the future, honouring the past, and keeping Burt Munro’s spirit of speed, ingenuity and determination alive.
Buy a ticket. Back our future. Keep Burt’s spirit alive. Win the ride of a lifetime.
