All-New Triumph Tiger Sport 800 Tour: Sporty Middleweight Turns Fun Tourer

  • Triumph has introduced the Tiger Sport 800 Tour, a touring-focused development of the Tiger Sport 800 with major comfort and practicality upgrades.
  • Factory-fitted panniers, top box, heated grips, centre stand, Comfort Seat and TPMS distinguish the Tour model from the standard version.
  • Arriving in NZ from February 2026 at $21,995 + ORC, the new Tiger Sport 800 Tour offers one of the most competitive turnkey touring packages in its class.

Triumph has unveiled the latest addition to its middleweight range — the Tiger Sport 800 Tour, a new variant designed to take the award-winning Tiger Sport 800 platform and turn it into a far more capable long-distance machine.

While the standard model has already earned praise for its blend of agility, triple-engine character and real-world usability, the new Tour version builds on that foundation with a comprehensive package of factory-fitted upgrades aimed squarely at riders who want more comfort, more practicality and true touring readiness straight out of the box.

Where the original Tiger Sport 800 is pitched as a sporty, versatile road-biased machine, the 800 Tour steps confidently into full sport-touring territory. Triumph has equipped it with a host of features that riders would normally add gradually — or at significant extra cost — including a centre stand, heated grips, hand guards, and a dual Comfort Seat (that’s a manageable 835mm from the floor) designed to improve both long-haul support and pillion comfort. Practical touches continue with the addition of Tyre Pressure Monitoring as standard, offering extra reassurance on big kilometres.

One of the most significant upgrades over the base model is the integrated luggage system. Colour-matched panniers and a 49-litre top box come fitted from the factory, mounted to a dedicated aluminium rack. With a combined 106 litres of storage, the Tiger Sport 800 Tour is immediately ready for multi-day adventures, commuting duties or two-up weekend escapes. The luggage’s colour integration — extended to both available paint schemes — gives the bike a cohesive premium look that sets it apart visually from the regular model. The luggage will comfortably swallow two XL full face helmets, with either two in the top box or one each in the panniers.

The Tiger Sport 800 Tour retains all the dynamic strengths of the standard version. The lively 798cc triple delivers 115PS and an eager spread of torque, giving the bike a playful, responsive feel on open roads. Three modes, Sport, Road, and Rain, are available at the touch of a button. Sport sharpens throttle response for a more dynamic feel, while Road offers balanced performance for everyday riding, and Rain provides extra security in wet conditions. Optimised cornering ABS and traction control further enhance confidence when conditions turn challenging. Showa suspension, Triumph’s signature Shift Assist, ride-by-wire throttle, cornering ABS and traction control all carry over, along with the hybrid LCD/TFT instrument display and the brand’s full connectivity suite, including navigation, calls and music control.

For touring comfort, the Tour model adds a single-handed adjustable screen, deflectors, improved weather protection and the benefits of the Comfort Seat’s 3D net padding and cooling channels. These upgrades, combined with the easy ergonomics of the Tiger Sport chassis, make it clear that Triumph’s intention was not simply to accessorise the bike, but to create a distinct variant with genuine long-range capability.

Kryptonite lock-homepage

Visually, the new Matt Cobalt and Carnival Red colour schemes — each extending across the matching luggage — give the Tour a more integrated and polished aesthetic. Even fully loaded, Triumph has managed to keep weight to a manageable 232kg (wet, including luggage), preserving the agile handling that helped define the original Tiger Sport 800.

The Tiger Sport 800 Tour is expected to arrive in New Zealand in Q2 2026 and will be priced at $21,995 + ORC. For a model that comes fully equipped with luggage, heated grips, comfort upgrades and touring hardware, Triumph has positioned it as a very competitive offering in the mid-capacity touring space.
