- Suzuki e-Access unveiled
- Gets a 3.07 kWh LFP battery and 95km range
- Unlikely to be launched in NZ
Suzuki has officially entered the electric two-wheeler space with the launch of its first electric scooter, the e-Access. The electric scooter is currently only available in the Indian market, but it will soon make its way to other global markets. While it is unlikely to be launched in New Zealand anytime soon, it is interesting to see what Suzuki has come up with.
At the heart of the e-Access is a 3.07 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack, which delivers a claimed IDC range of up to 95km on a single charge. However, real-world conditions may yield slightly lower figures. Suzuki states the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, making it relatively convenient for home charging setups.

Powering the scooter is a 4.1kW swingarm-mounted motor, capable of reaching a top speed of 71km/h. While not the fastest in its class, Suzuki appears to be focusing more on efficiency and urban usability than outright performance. The Suzuki e-Access comes equipped with several contemporary features, including LED lighting at both ends, and three selectable ride modes – Eco, Ride A, and Ride B – to tailor power delivery to rider preference or battery conservation needs.
Visually, the e-Access remains true to Suzuki’s traditional scooter styling. It features a raked front apron with defined creases, a compact headlamp cowl, and simple, flat side panels. The tail section introduces a bit of flair, with quirkily positioned turn indicators, adding a modern touch to the overall clean design. The underpinnings of the e-Access mirror its petrol-powered counterpart. Suspension duties are managed by a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear, while the scooter rolls on 12-inch wheels at both ends. In terms of braking, it gets a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear, offering balanced stopping power for city commuting
