Upcoming Triumph Tiger 1200 to get front-facing radar

  • 2025 Triumph Tiger 1200 to get new tech
  • Currently comes with front-facing radar
  • Likely to be launched by the end of the year

Triumph Motorcycles has been spotted testing the upcoming Tiger 1200 with new, front-facing radar technology along with other subtle updates for 2025.

Ever since it debuted on the Ducati Multistrada V4 in 2020, the front-facing radar tech has become the norm for premium adventure and touring motorcycles. The recent spy images show the upcoming Tiger 1200 with the technology on test. The sensor is neatly housed behind a discreet cover in a dedicated cutout below the redesigned windscreen. Interestingly, the screen itself appears to be finalised, indicating that the model may be close to launch.

The current Tiger 1200 already gets the rear radar system for blind spot detection, which also seems to be getting a revision. The sensor at the rear has been repositioned from its prominent spot above the license plate to a more concealed location, tucked between the seat and the plate bracket. It has resulted in the taillight replacement, although the images are unclear as to where it has been positioned. Well, it is also likely that Triumph has taken the same route as the BMW R1300 GS and integrated the lights with the turn signals.

Triumph’s existing radar tech comes from Continental rather than the widely used Bosch system. While it’s uncertain whether Triumph will continue with Continental or switch providers for the front radar, either option would bring features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warnings, and potentially automatic emergency braking.

Other noticeable refinements include subtle updates to the bodywork. These involve a reshaped beak below the headlight, modified side panels flanking the headlamp, repositioned front turn signals, and a new windscreen design with reshaped wind deflectors.

We can expect Triumph to showcase the new Tiger 1200 with the front-facing radar technology by the end of the year at the 2025 EICMA.
