Upcoming BMW F450 GS-based RR spotted!

  • To be built by TVS Motor Company in India
  • Will come with the same engine as the F450 GS
  • Likely launch by the end of 2026

BMW Motorrad has been spotted testing the fully faired version of the F450 GS in India, the country which will also build the ADV for international markets. While the footage stops short of offering clear confirmation, it has certainly sparked speculation.

The motorcycle shown in the clip is concealed beneath a black cover, making it impossible to verify details with certainty. However, the silhouette beneath the fabric tells an interesting story. The shape around the nose and front fairing closely resembles that of the TVS Apache RR 310, a similarity that would hardly be coincidental given the long-standing collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company.

That partnership has already produced several shared-platform machines. The F450 GS itself is manufactured by TVS in India, with production having begun in November last year. Previously, TVS developed the Apache RR 310, which later formed the basis for BMW’s own G310 RR in select markets. The pattern suggests that if TVS were preparing a larger-capacity Apache, a BMW-branded equivalent could potentially follow.

Performance figures add weight to that theory. The current 310 platform delivers around 38bhp, whereas the 420cc engine used in the F450 GS produces approximately 48bhp along with roughly 42Nm. A faired sportsbike using that engine would represent a noticeable step up in performance for TVS.

Whether BMW would mirror such a model for Europe is less certain. The G310 RR, despite its BMW badge, has remained an India-only offering. That precedent suggests there is no guarantee a 450-based sportsbike would make it beyond its home market.

Still, the 420cc engine’s output places it comfortably within Europe’s A2 licence limits, making it a viable candidate should BMW decide to expand the platform. The brand already offers the F450 GS in Europe, so the real question would be whether there is room in its line-up for a parallel A2-friendly sports model to compete against established options such as the Aprilia RS 457, Aprilia RS 660, Honda CBR500R and Kawasaki Ninja 500.

We can expect it to be showcased by the end of 2026, likely at the EICMA in Italy.
