Triumph Tiger 900 to get Alpine and Desert Editions for 2026

  • Patent filings reveal two new editions
  • To offer different features
  • Likely to be unveiled at EICMA 2025

Triumph is poised to bring back two special-edition Tiger models in 2026, with trademark filings from the Swiss Patent Office suggesting the return of the Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert Editions.

According to reports, these updated specials mark the reappearance of the Alpine and Desert names first seen in the 2020 line-up. However, back then, they adorned the larger Tiger 1200s. This time, it’s expected to be the smaller Tiger 900 receiving the special edition treatment.

Exact specifications remain under wraps for now, but history offers a few clues. The Desert Edition is likely to be the more off-road-focused machine, building on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro platform and featuring exclusive graphics, colours, and hardware. The Alpine Edition, meanwhile, should lean more towards long-distance touring, likely taking the GT Pro as its foundation.

Back in 2020, the Tiger 1200 Desert Edition wore a distinctive ‘Sandstorm’ paint scheme, combined with dedicated graphics, an Arrow titanium exhaust, and a standard-fit Triumph Shift Assist quickshifter. Given that the current Rally Pro already has a quickshifter as standard, the new Desert Edition may gain an alternative extra, possibly aluminium panniers.

The 2020 Alpine Edition followed a similar pattern, with ‘Snowdonia White’ paint, the Arrow exhaust, and a quickshifter, plus the option of ‘Trekker’ aluminium and plastic panniers on the GT Pro. It’s not hard to imagine Triumph following the same playbook for the 900. There’s no official word yet on when these bikes will debut, but given the timing of the trademark filings, a full reveal in late 2025 seems likely, perhaps at EICMA in Milan or Motorcycle Live in Birmingham, ahead of a 2026 market launch.
