Triumph Thruxton 400 to make global debut tomorrow

  • To be fourth addition to 400cc range
  • Based on the Speed 400 sold in NZ
  • Could be launched here by 2026

Triumph is all-set to unveil the new Thruxton 400 tomorrow, 6 August. While the launch is happening in India- the country it is being manufactured in, we can expect the motorcycle to make its way to international markets in the next few months.

The highlight of the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 is undoubtedly its striking retro-inspired design—a clear departure from the Speed 400, despite sharing much of its underpinnings. While the two bikes are mechanically similar, the Thruxton stands out with its unique front fairing, bar-end mirrors, and sporty rear-seat cowl, borrowing design cues from Triumph’s larger Thruxton models.

Under the skin, the Thruxton 400 is powered by the same 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the Speed 400, producing 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed gearbox. Known for its smooth and punchy performance, the engine is expected to feature a revised final drive ratio to complement the Thruxton’s sportier character better.

On the features front, expect a similar equipment package to the Speed 400, including LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, traction control, and a semi-digital instrument cluster—making it a stylish yet practical option for retro motorcycle enthusiasts.

Stay tuned as we bring you full details of the upcoming Thruxton 400.
