Triumph Scrambler 400 XC New Zealand pricing announced!

  • Priced at $10,995+ORC
  • Gets more off-road-focused components
  • Will arrive around September

Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed that the Scrambler 400 XC is coming to New Zealand soon and has announced the pricing of the motorcycle. The off-road focused machine is priced at $10,995+ ORC making it slightly more expensive than the Scrambler 400 X that retails at $8,995+ORC.

While the XC shares its DNA with the standard Scrambler 400 X, it brings a few thoughtful upgrades aimed at boosting its off-road prowess. Among the most significant improvements are the tubeless cross-spoke wheels. These not only add to the bike’s rugged aesthetic but also simplify puncture repairs and boost long-term durability—ideal for those venturing off the beaten path.

Setting itself apart visually, the Scrambler 400 XC ditches the familiar colour schemes of the 400 X and debuts with three exclusive new shades: Racing Yellow, Vanilla White, and Granite. These colours are paired with sporty speed-block graphics that lend a bold yet sophisticated look depending on the chosen palette.

Although the XC retains the familiar silhouette of the 400 X, it introduces a few design tweaks for better functionality and flair. A colour-coded beak fender and a standard windscreen give the bike a more purposeful appearance, while an aluminium bash plate and engine protection bars add off-road credibility and peace of mind during rough rides.

Powering the Scrambler 400 XC is the same 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in its sibling. This unit delivers 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Riders can expect a smooth and tractable power delivery—arguably more refined than what rivals like the KTM 390 Adventure or Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 currently offer.

The XC doesn’t skimp on modern tech. Riders will appreciate a suite of premium features, including full-LED lighting, traction control, switchable ABS, and a slipper-assist clutch, all working together to enhance confidence on both asphalt and trails.
