Suzuki working on updated Gixxer range

  • Could come with new features
  • Slight tweaks to the engine
  • No word about the launch timeline yet

Suzuki appears set to refresh its popular street lineup, with a new generation of the Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250 expected to be introduced in the second half of 2026.

Both models have been on sale for several years, receiving only incremental updates, mostly to meet emission norms. While they’ve remained strong contenders thanks to their refinement, efficiency, and handling, their age is beginning to show in an increasingly competitive segment.

With this update, Suzuki is likely to introduce a more comprehensive overhaul. Expected upgrades include a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, USD front forks, grippier tyres, and improved LED lighting. These changes would bring the Gixxers more in line with current segment expectations.

Engine updates are still unconfirmed, but Suzuki will likely aim to retain the core strengths of these bikes, smooth performance and strong fuel efficiency while making minor tweaks for better responsiveness and compliance with future regulations.

One area that’s unlikely to change drastically is the handling. The Gixxers are known for their light, agile, and easy-to-ride nature, and preserving that character will be key to maintaining their appeal.

Overall, this update feels overdue. With rivals stepping up their game, a meaningful refresh could help Suzuki reassert its position in the segment, much like it has done with newer global models such as the Burgman Street. There is no word about its launch in Australia and New Zealand yet.
