New KTM 125 and 390 Enduro R unveiled!

  • Use the same engines as Duke range
  • Get revised ergonomics and fitment
  • Could be launched in NZ and AUS by mid-2025
KTM 390 Enduro R

Sporting minimal bodywork, the two motorcycles are based on the Duke platform. However, to suit their Enduro characteristics, KTM has tweaked fitments and revised the ergonomics. The footpeg position has been changed to better suit stood-up riding while the radiator has been moved higher for better ground clearance. Even the steering head angle has been revised and the bikes come with new subframe mounts and a 25mm taller handlebar.

Undeneath, the bikes use the same engines as the SMC R models. The 399cc and 124cc motors come with significant changes including a revised cylinder head, tweaked airbox, gearbox changes, repositioned fuel injectors and a 2kg lighter exhaust. KTM has altered the service intervals with the first check scheduled at 1000km with the duration between services increasing to 10,000kms thereafter. Inspections for valves are every 20,000kms.

KTM 390 Enduro R

The KTM 125 Enduro R and 390 Enduro R ride on 18/21-inch spoke wheel combos with suspension from WP at both ends. While both bikes get 43mm WP USD forks, the 390 offers compression and rebound adjustability for the front and rebound and preload adjustability at the rear. However, the 125 is more basic and only offers rear preload tuning.

As for features, the KTM 125 and 390 Enduro R list out dual-channel ABS and a TFT screen. The bigger sibling also gets two switchable ride modes and selectable reaction control. With the motorcycles being introduced in some international markets in the first quarter, we can expect them to arrive in Australia and New Zealand by mid-2025.
