BSA has showcased the B65 Scrambler at the Birmingham Motorcycle Live show. The motorcycle is a scrambler based on the brand’s Goldstar 650.
The B65 uses most of its components from the retro version but comes with changes that make it a scrambler and give it character. It uses a smaller headlight with a grille above the high-set front fender. The handlebar seems wider and has a brace and bar-end mirrors. Then there is the side panels with the race number plate while the tail is shorter and has a ribbed pattern flat seat. BSA is offering the B65 Scrambler in white and yellow with grey.
In addition, the BSA B65 Scrambler gets different hardware to further set it apart from the Goldstar 650. While the latter has an 18-17-inch wheel combination, the B65 uses a 19-17-spoke wheel combination. These are wrapped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. That said, the seat height is also 40 mm taller. In comparison, the Goldstar has an 820mm seat height.
Now, the engine remains the same as the Goldstar. The 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 45.6bhp and 55Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. We can expect a gearing ratio change to suit the Scrambler’s needs.
BSA is expected to launch the motorcycle with a price higher than the Goldstar 650. It could arrive in New Zealand sometime next year to take on the Royal Enfield Bear 650.
