- To be a limited-edition model
- Will come with MotoGP tech
- Likely to be launched at 2025 EICMA
Piaggio has filed a new trademark for what will be the fifth limited-edition Aprilia X model – the X GP – following the RSV4 X ex3ma, which sold out all 30 units in just 76 days.
The ex3ma was heavily inspired by MotoGP, with tech straight from the brand’s factory racing program. And now, Aprilia’s pushing the limits again. The upcoming X GP is expected to be the most extreme version of the RSV4 yet.

Aprilia’s X-series began with the RSV4 X in 2019, built to celebrate a decade of the RSV4. It came with a carbon-fibre fairing and Brembo GP4-MS billet calipers. That was followed by the Tuono V4 X, a track-only machine with full carbon winglets, and then the radical RSV4 XTrenta, which upped the ante even further.
This new model is likely the fourth RSV4-based bike in the X lineup, though a Tuono-based version can’t be ruled out just yet. The trademark was filed with IP offices in both the EU and the UK.
If the rumours hold, the X GP might be the closest thing you can buy to a MotoGP bike , short of getting a pit crew and grid pass. We can expect it to make its debut closer to the 2025 EICMA later this year.
