Limited-edition Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Gray Ghost unveiled

  • Fat Boy Gray Ghost limited to 1,990 units
  • Uses the same Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine
  • Gets special cosmetic changes

Harley-Davidson has introduced the latest addition to its Icons Motorcycle Collection: the Fat Boy Gray Ghost. Created to honour the 35th anniversary of the legendary Fat Boy cruiser, the limited-edition model be restricted to just 1,990 units worldwide.

Powered by the same Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine found in the 2025 Fat Boy, the Gray Ghost churns out approximately 101bhp and 165.4Nm of torque—translating to a roughly 7% bump in horsepower and a 3% torque increase compared to the 2024 Fat Boy 114. While the engine and core mechanical components remain unchanged, what truly sets this model apart is its distinct styling and attention to detail.

The Gray Ghost features a dazzling chrome-inspired finish made possible through Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD)—a method previously reserved by Harley-Davidson for smaller components like tank medallions and exhaust trims. This marks the first time PVD has been applied to large body panels, including the tank and fenders, on a mass-produced Harley.

Complementing its unique finish, the motorcycle also boasts a silver powder-coated frame and a design language that nods to the original Fat Boy. Visual highlights include a round air intake, yellow detailing on the lower rocker and powertrain covers, and a leather seat valance complete with vintage-style lacing and tassels. A specially crafted tank console insert adds another layer of exclusivity.

Riders will also benefit from selectable ride modes—Road, Rain, and Sport—along with a suite of advanced safety systems. These include cornering ABS, traction control, drag-torque slip control, and tyre pressure monitoring. Standard features include a new five-inch console-mounted display, an all-LED lighting setup, and factory-fitted heated grips.

Reflecting on the legacy of the Fat Boy, Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson’s VP of Design and Creative Director for Motorcycles, said: “The original Fat Boy model took the look, proportions, and silhouette of a 1949 Hydra-Glide and completely modernised it for a new generation of riders. Those riders appreciated our post-war design DNA but also found themselves drawn to the clean simplicity of contemporary industrial design.”

Harley-Davidson is yet to confirm if the Fat Boy Gray Ghost will make its way to our shores. And if it does, only a few units will be available here.
