WP Suspension has introduced its latest APEX PRO platform, and it’s not just reserved for the track-only KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track. The system will also be available as an aftermarket upgrade for the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR and KTM 1390 Super Duke R, giving road bike owners access to a more focused suspension setup without stepping up to the limited-run model.
At the front, the new APEX PRO fork uses a Closed Cartridge design similar to WP’s race-spec equipment. In simple terms, it’s built to deliver more consistent damping and clearer feedback under hard riding, helping riders brake later and carry more confidence through fast corners. On bikes as powerful and stiff as the Super Duke R and RR, suspension performance becomes critical at higher speeds, and this upgrade is designed to unlock more of the bike’s potential.
A key addition is WP’s Tecterra inner tube coating. The company claims it’s roughly twice as hard as conventional chrome, improving resistance to wear from dust and debris while maintaining damping consistency over time, especially useful for repeated aggressive riding or track use.
At the rear, the matching APEX PRO shock is designed to improve traction out of corners and stability under braking. It also includes a mount for a potentiometer, enabling telemetry-based suspension tuning for riders who want to go deeper into setup. Adjustment options are extensive, including high- and low-speed compression damping, rebound, hydraulic preload, and length adjustment, along with different spring-rate options and quick spring swaps.
Put together, the APEX PRO package gives Super Duke R and RR owners a much wider setup window, effectively allowing them to push their bikes closer to a true track-focused feel without sacrificing the base platform.
