Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R updated for 2026

  • Updates limited to colour options
  • Continues with 399cc inline-four motor
  • Could be globally introduced soon

Kawasaki has updated the Ninja ZX-4R supersport for the 2026 model year, with the changes limited to new colour options. As is typical with Kawasaki’s approach to mid-cycle updates, the ZX-4R remains mechanically unchanged

For 2026, the Ninja ZX-4R will be offered in two paint schemes. The more striking option is Blizzard White/Spark Black, which features a dual-tone black and white finish across the bodywork, highlighted by a gold stripe that runs from the fairing through to the fuel tank. The second option, Metallic Moondusty Gray paired with Metallic Spark Black, offers a more subdued and stealthier appearance.

While the styling has been refreshed, the technical package remains intact, which is no drawback given the ZX-4R’s performance-focused specification. Power comes from a 399cc inline four-cylinder engine that produces 75.9bhp at 14,500rpm and 39Nm of torque at 13,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and is equipped with both a slipper clutch and a quickshifter as standard.

The ZX-4R is built around a trellis frame and features non-adjustable Showa upside-down forks at the front, along with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is handled by twin discs up front and a single disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS.

Electronic rider aids include Kawasaki Traction Control (K-TRC) with three selectable modes, as well as three power modes- Full, Middle, and Low, allowing riders to tailor performance to conditions. The bike also offers Bluetooth connectivity via its TFT-LCD instrument display, enabling smartphone integration.
