Honda confirms production of CB400 Super Four and CBR400R Four E-Clutch

Honda has officially confirmed production of the eagerly anticipated CB400 Super Four E-Clutch and CBR400R Four E-Clutch, with both models set to arrive at selected dealerships in Japan over the coming months.

Originally unveiled as concept models, the two middleweight motorcycles will share a new 399cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine paired with Honda’s E-Clutch technology. The system is complemented by a throttle-by-wire setup, allowing clutch-free operation while retaining a conventional manual gearbox.

Both motorcycles also feature a five-inch full-colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, bringing modern technology to the brand’s latest small-capacity four-cylinder platform.

The CB400 Super Four E-Clutch will be the first to reach Japanese dealerships, with sales beginning on August 21. It will be followed by the fully faired CBR400R Four E-Clutch, which is scheduled to arrive at selected Honda Dream dealerships from September 18.

Honda has yet to confirm whether either model will be offered in overseas markets. However, with demand for smaller-displacement motorcycles continuing to grow, the new four-cylinder pair could prove popular if introduced beyond Japan.
