Honda CB1000F Concept unveiled!

  • Unveiled at Osaka Motor Show
  • Based on CB1000 Hornet
  • Could make its debut this year

Honda has taken the wraps off the CB1000F Concept at the Osaka Motorcycle Show recently. The bike comes exactly five years after the Japanese brand revealed the CB-F Concept. Nonetheless, the CB1000F is likely to go into production soon and make its debut by the end of 2025.

The CB1000F Concept is similar to the CB-F and takes on the retro-style roadster design appeal. It takes inspiration from the CB750F that was introduced in 1979 and gets its colours from Freddie Spencer’s AMA Superbike from 1981. Now, the 2020 CB-F borrowed its chassis and engine from the CB1000R. However, with the launch of the 2025 CB1000 Hornet, we can expect the Concept to be based on the same platform and also use the same litre-class engine.

So, there is the twin-spar steel frame, dual-sided swingarm and the 150bhp engine. It also gets the same Showa SFF-BP inverted fork and adjustable monoshock from the Hornet. That said, Honda also showcased two modified versions of the motorcycle, hinting at it being close to production. The styling is something that would be aimed to take on the likes of the Kawasaki Z900 RS. The ducktail rear with its large LED light, square-shouldered fuel tank and a raised central section with the fuel filler cap all scream retro. The circular LED headlamp is modern and comes with two horns on either side- a signature CB750F design.

While, Honda hasn’t revealed its launch date or timeline, we can expect it to be introduced at the EICMA 2025 later this year with a launch in markets like Australia and New Zealand sometime in 2026.
