Ducati has unveiled the 2027 Panigale V4 and V4 S with increased power, revised chassis characteristics and new electronic rider aids designed to improve track performance. The updated superbikes produce a claimed 215bhp, up from 213bhp in the outgoing models, while Ducati says the combined changes can reduce lap times at Vallelunga by 0.4 seconds.
The additional power from the Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine is concentrated between 12,000rpm and 14,000rpm, with Ducati claiming a peak gain of up to 3.5bhp at 13,000rpm. A new high-flow air intake contributes another 1.3bhp at 299km/h, while a revised exhaust system and recalibrated oil system are intended to improve efficiency.
Ducati has also revised the final drive gearing, moving from a 16/41 setup to 17/42. The rev limiter has been raised by 500rpm to 15,000rpm in second through fifth gears. According to the manufacturer, these changes increase top speed by 12.1km/h and reduce the number of gear changes required on track. Ducati’s testing at Vallelunga recorded two fewer shifts per lap.

For riders seeking further performance, Ducati is offering a new Akrapovič Full Racing Exhaust PRO as a track-only accessory. The system is claimed to increase output by 10.8bhp and torque by 6.9Nm, while reducing weight by 6.6kg.
The chassis has also received attention, with the lateral stiffness of the front frame reduced by 12%. Ducati says this improves front-end feedback and grip at extreme lean angles. The revised final-drive setup also shortens the effective wheelbase by 8mm, which is intended to make direction changes quicker.
The Panigale V4 S gains another track-focused change in the form of adjustable clip-on handlebars that can be raised by 10mm. Inspired by developments in MotoGP, the revised setup is intended to provide better leverage and reduce rider effort during hard braking and rapid changes of direction.

Electronics are another focus of the update. The new Dynamic Engine Brake system replaces the previous Engine Brake Control, using Ducati’s Vehicle Observer algorithm to adjust engine braking according to the load on the rear tyre. This is intended to make the bike’s behaviour more predictable when entering corners.

Alongside it, Race Brake Control makes its debut on the Panigale V4 range after previously appearing on more exclusive Ducati models. The system increases the rear wheel’s contribution to braking, with the aim of improving deceleration and control.
For the first time, the Panigale V4 S is included in Ducati’s Factory Made programme, allowing buyers to personalise their motorcycles directly through the Borgo Panigale factory. Eleven colour options are available, including five drawn from Lamborghini’s colour catalogue, as well as Corse and Performance liveries.
Factory-fitted options include Front Brake PRO and PRO+ packages, an STM dry clutch and adjustable footpegs.
The standard Panigale V4 is available exclusively in Ducati Red, paired with an Urban Grey frame and black wheels. Its suspension consists of manually adjustable 43mm Showa Big Piston Forks at the front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear.
The V4 S retains electronically adjustable Öhlins suspension, comprising NPX-30 forks, a TTX 36 rear shock and a steering damper. All three components operate through the Smart EC 3.0 control system.

Claimed kerb weights, excluding fuel, stand at 191kg for the standard V4 and 187kg for the V4 S. Ducati has linked the latest changes to its continued success in the World Superbike Championship. Nicolò Bulega secured the 2026 riders’ title aboard the Panigale V4 R, a related but distinct homologation-special model. He won 26 of the first 30 races of the season, helping Ducati claim its 17th riders’ championship in the category.
The updated Panigale V4’s development also benefited from track testing during Ducati’s Lenovo Race of Champions event. According to the manufacturer, the changes contributed to a 0.7-second improvement over the pole-position lap record previously set by Bulega.
With more power, revised chassis dynamics and additional electronic controls, the 2027 Panigale V4 and V4 S continue Ducati’s focus on improving track performance while retaining distinct equipment packages for road and circuit use.
