- Gets a classic whitewall style
- Covers rim diameters from 15 to 23 inches
- Targeted for cruiser motorcycles
Avon has completed a full redevelopment of its Cobra Chrome tyre range, retaining one of its most recognisable signatures along the way: the classic whitewall. Now part of Goodyear’s motorcycle brand portfolio for four years, alongside Dunlop, Avon is using the updated Cobra Chrome line to underline a renewed focus on cruiser and custom motorcycles.
The refreshed Cobra Chrome range will be available in a total of 77 front and rear sizes, 14 of which feature the distinctive white sidewall. Covering rim diameters from 15 to 23 inches, the range is clearly aimed at modern cruisers and baggers, many of which use unconventional wheel sizes. Avon has confirmed that these sizes will be rolled out progressively through 2026.

Production of Avon’s premium motorcycle tyres has also shifted to Goodyear’s manufacturing facility in Montluçon, France. Whitewall tyres, in particular, demand greater precision during manufacturing, and Avon says the white rubber compound has been reformulated to improve resistance to fading over time. In addition, the sidewall assembly has moved from a largely manual process to a more automated one, helping improve consistency.
That attention to detail matters in the whitewall segment, where buyers are investing as much in visual impact as performance. On large, polished cruiser wheels, even minor inconsistencies are immediately noticeable—something Avon appears keen to eliminate with this latest update.
