Perfect start for Bruce Anstey at the Dundrod Street Circuit

Guy Martin was on pole but crashed out as the fast-catching Padgetts Honda of Bruce Anstey closed the gap and piled on the pressure. The red flag ended the day’s racing but fortunately Guy Martin appears to be bruised but not broken, so may resume the weekend’s racing. The on-form Anstey is having one of the best seasons in his career and his win, the 11th at the circuit, was hugely popular with the crowd. For the record, Bruce Anstey has never failed to secure at least a podium every year since his debut in 2002, where he won from pole the first time he raced the famous Dundrod circuit. More to come over the next few days and the full story will be in BRM.
