Valentino Rossi, who broke his right leg in two places only 21 days ago, will make his return to the MotoGP grid at Aragón this weekend.
Following tested on the YZF-R1M this week, the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider has been declared fit to ride in this weekend’s Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón by MMotorLand Aragón’s Chrief Medical Officer, Clemente Millan in a mandatory medical examination.
The Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team will start round 14 of the MotoGP World Championship with their original rider line-up, with Michael van der Mark –who was to ride the YZF-R1M if Rossi was unable to race – remaining with the team as a backup rider for the weekend in the event that Rossi feels he is unable to race at his best on race day after Free Practice. Should he be stepping aboard the YZR-M1 this weekend, he will do so without any prior testing.
Despite missing the previous race due to injury, Rossi arrives at the 14th round still holding onto fourth place in the championship, 42 points from the top of the standings.
